Boston’s Best Female Trainers

Lessons from a Fit life.

These are Boston’s best female Trainers: Megan Beck and Marcy Tillman.

Wait a second? Why do you have to qualify them by gender? Why Boston’s best Female Trainers? Can’t they just be two of Boston’s best Trainers? Period.

You’re right. They are two of the best trainers, regardless of sex. Their gender recommends them further, however, because let’s face it: trainers are dealing with the body. There’s certain things about being male or female that can’t be explained. They have to be experienced.

Okay- so why are they the best?

Great question. Let’s make this a 2 part Blog and focus on each Trainer. We’ll go in Alphabetical order so it does’t seem like I’m picking favorites. Megan, you’re first up.

Megan Beck is Boston's best female trainer.

Allow me to qualify my answer. I’m not a journalist tucking a short paragraph into a best of list. I’m a Trainer. I’ve been doing this for 20+ years. I know greatness when I see it. I see things that journalists don’t. I’m a tougher critic.

Lets run a Greatness highlight reel.

I watched Megan coach a female client to perform chinups. How many women do you know who can perform chinups?

How many men for that matter?

I’ve seen countless clients hobble in and leave her with their shoulders back and their heads high.

Just listen to what they say:

‘I’m a different person since meeting Megan.’

‘The perfect blend of mobility and strength’

Now lets look at how she trains herself. Megan can:

  • Run several ultra marathon obstacle course races per year
  • Do 10 chin ups.
  • Deadlift a truck.
  • And she still moves well.

All in all that ties her for Boston’s Best Trainer.

Additionally, and I can’t stress this enough, how someone moves recommends them. She’ll train you with the same toolkit she trains herself. Moving well despite pushing her body to it’s limit recommends her just as much as any quote or award will.

The Reviews:

It feels crazy to say this, but I am a different person since meeting Megan Beck a year and a half ago. She is highly-skilled, laser-focused, and passionate about helping people achieve their fitness goals, no matter what they are. She is also an exceptional athlete herself, and an inspiration to all who are trying to perform at a high level. Whether your goal is to dance shirtless in Provincetown or prepare your body for menopause, she has the unique ability to meet any individual where they are. She is also so lucky to work in one of the more beautiful private fitness spaces in the South End. I am excited to walk into Fit and work with her every one of my three days a week.– Anna

Training with Megan has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. She’s incredibly knowledgeable and professional, but also genuinely supportive and motivating every step of the way. Not only does she tailor every session to align with my long-term goals, but she also adjusts on the fly to meet my needs in the moment—whether that means modifying a workout based on how I’m feeling that day or being flexible and patient when I have to bring my kid along. Megan creates a positive, empowering environment where I feel supported, challenged, and seen. I’m stronger, healthier, and more confident thanks to her. – Bevin

And now for Marcy

Reasons Marcy Tillman is tied for Boston’s best female Trainer.

Side note- she’s also the city’s best trainer. Period. I’m adding female for the search engines. As I did with Megan.

So there.

Reason #1: She connects. Marcy doesn’t have casual clients. Her people LOVE her. All of them. It’s not uncommon for her clients to hug her after sessions.

Reason #2: Breadth of knowledge. She’s a Trainer, a Z health expert, massage therapist, and basketball coach. She knows a little bit of everything.

Reason #3: she can work with anyone. Marcy has such a Breadth of knowledge and talent that she can add value to clients of every ability level. Amazing athlete? She’ll show you some great stretch or massage. Out of shape? She’s so talented she can regress any workout to whatever level the client needs.

I could keep going but by now you get it. She’s smart. She’s caring. Several of her clients say “I dont where I’d be without her.”

And she’d NEVER sing her own praises; She’s quiet greatness personified. Therefore it falls to me, a fellow Trainer (22 years experience) who has worked alongside hundreds of other trainers, and her clients, to tell you that behind her quiet, unassuming, exterior lies a peerless Professional.

She is truly tied for Boston’s best female trainer.

And Boston’s best Trainer.

I’ve worked with Marcy for over 8 years and despite my own bad habits she has kept me strong and motivated me to improve my lifestyle and diet to drop the extra weight even while juggling the demands of work and a young family. She’s helped me with strength, flexibility, diet, sleep – everything – Marcy just gets it.” – Dave

Marcy truly puts the “personal” in personal training. I have been working with her for years, and she is constantly adapting her workouts for me to my body’s needs. She is also a licensed massage therapist, so she is always ready to audible and do a “recovery day” if needed. She is kind, personable, and professional, and just a really good person overall. She makes it worth waking up while it’s still dark outside in the middle of winter to get a workout done. I would not hesitate to recommend Marcy to anyone in need of a personalized workout routine.” – Daniel
