Welcome to the best Holiday shopping list for the fitness nut in your life.
Three gifts; Three levels of commitment:
- Stocking stuffer- show someone you care but don’t break the bank
- Mid level- when you want to show you care with little more oomph.
- The Grand Gesture- you’re either in the dog house, or looking to make an impression.
And now my yearly reminder: DON’T BUY PRIVATE TRAINING FOR SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT ASK FOR IT.
It sends a message. Proceed with caution.
What if they are already a client?
That’s fine. They’ve already bought in.
Stocking Stuffer
How about a book?
I’d recommend Good Energy by Casey Means… but that is a book about eating better and losing weight… messaging again.
So I’ll recommend 365 Thank Yous. The author finds himself failing in his business, his 2nd marriage, and his family life. He begins writing thank you notes every day, with unexpected results.
File this one under Mental Health. If you want to feel great, make someone else feel great.
You may even get a thank you note.

Mid Level
How about a set of weighted jump ropes from Cross Rope?
Jumping rope is the best calorie burn of any exercise (up to 200 calories in 10 minutes).
And you can do it anywhere (with decent ceiling height).
With that kind of result there should be a rush on purchasing ropes.
Unfortunately I’ve discovered that a lot of people suck at jumping rope.
But weighted ropes improve even the most uncoordinated jumper. The weight of the ropes improves people’s awareness of where the rope is; they can better assess when to jump.
And if they’re a total loss in the coordination department try their ropeless jump ropes. Ropeless for the hopeless.

As for the messaging? Hmmm….
I just told my wife I’m buying her some jump ropes for Xmas and…
Make sure you have another mid size non fitness gift.
The Grand Gesture
I’m going with the Ice Barrel 500.
A cold plunge.
A committed ($$$) gift for a committed fitness nut (who may actually need to be committed). The benefits of cold plunges are many:
- Better mood
- Better immune response
- Better recovery
- Better blood sugar
- Better circulation
So put em on ice. Imagine all the second hand benefits you’ll get when your loved one improves in all of these categories (and a few more).
And the messaging…
Tell ‘em they’re so hot you thought they needed to cool off.

Gifts are great- but experiences are even better. Take time this Holiday to plan a workout, a walk, a hike, or anything physical with those on your gift list.
Your presence is undoubtedly the best present.
